OUR HEAD CHEF
We are delighted to welcome Darren Somerton as the new Head Chef at The Fox. With an extraordinary 35 years of experience in fast‑paced, high‑calibre kitchens, Darren brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity and passion to our team. His career has taken him through an impressive range of eateries across the South East and London, from beloved neighbourhood restaurants to iconic establishments such as The Savoy Hotel and even the legendary QE II.

Darren’s cooking is defined by consistency, imagination and an instinctive understanding of flavour. He has spent decades crafting dishes that tempt every taste bud — balancing comfort with innovation, and seasonality with flair. His approach is simple: cook with integrity, champion great ingredients, and create food that guests genuinely want to return for.

At The Fox, Darren is excited to bring his signature style to our menus, celebrating local produce and elevating classic dishes with thoughtful twists. His leadership, calm confidence and deep love of hospitality make him a natural fit for our kitchen and our community.
